In between the lines

Can jewellery sometimes be like a drawing? Masako Hamaguchi and Claude Schmitz mix very different works in this exhibition but we can discern in them the same focus of attention and inspiration in the simple and essential graphic lines of each piece. In Claude’s work we can recognize easily the respect for the classic models of jewellery and in Masako’s that moment arises when, in the back, we observe the mechanisms that are themselves small works of art. The simples lines they use may reveal, after all, the complexities of the jewel.
