Pavel Opočenský lives and works in Prague. In 1979 he emigrated to Germany and two years later to the United States. In 1990 he returned to Bohemia. A highly regarded jeweler and a renowned sculptor, he is also a competent engraver, which is unusual in jewellery. This combination demands from the artist the investigation of the material, the imagination of the invisible in order to make it perceptible, and an enormous mastery of technique.
