Mecky van den Brink studied at the Textile Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (1970-1974). In the early 1970s, she specialized in tapestries. Since 1979 she has been engaged in jewellery using everyday materials such as plastics, textiles, ceramics, images or paper. Her latest works are lightweight and colorful necklaces made of small plastic dots connected by nylon thread.
Her work is represented in several museums in the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and USA.
