Functional objects we use in everyday life are normally not understood as jewellery. I select those objects that are associated with the body and remake them in metal. The process I use for doing this is always the same: the selected object is covered in an adhesive tape and then carefully cut with a cutter so as to obtain a template. Using the template I cut out the shapes in thin steel sheet and solder them together to re-construct the original shape. The thus made objects are hollow and light and comfortable to wear.
Through my crafting process, every-day things are turned into unique pieces with beautiful details. When my pieces are worn on the body they function as jewellery that accentuates the wearer, pleasing and amusing both him/her and the viewer.
